Mar 11, 2017 : (CS) Living History (Citizens Guard Muster)
The 5th KY Company “B” will present the mustering-in of troops from the Citizens Guard of the state militia by Capt. John Wickliffe. On Saturday morning we will assemble Camp Charity (Bardstown Village) to be inspected by a surgeon, enlist, and be given rations and pay. Instruction in the manual of arms will be given along with some firing demonstrations. Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on the troops, observe and ask questions. We will also be working with local Boy Scout troops, helping fulfill requirements for a merit badge on US and local history. The scouts will get some “hands-on” training, and will participate in the mustering-in.

September 9, 2017 : (US) Living History, Prelude to the Battle of Perryville
There will be a living history event at the Old Bardstown Village on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Participants will recreate the 1862 Union Encampment in Bardstown of General Buell’s Army of the Ohio. The Union Army was chasing Confederate forces under General Bragg, which culminated at the Battle of Perryville. There will be living history, demonstrations of camp life, military drills and conversations with Union soldiers.
The event will take place at the Old Bardstown Village, 310 E. Broadway from 10am to 5 p.m. Admission to special event only will be $5 adults; $3 children 6 years and older; under 6years old are free. The event will be free with a paid museum admission ticket (all four museums) $10 Adults; $5 child and free under 6 years.

November 11 : Veterans Open House at MidAmerica Museum
Old Bardstown Village/Civil War Museum invites the community to honor the Veterans of all wars on Veterans Day. The Museum will host an Open House at the War Memorial of MidAmerica, 2nd & Broadway/Museum Row from 10 am to 3 pm. FREE admission to the MidAmerica Museum and refreshments will be served.
November 18 : Old Bardstown Village/Civil War Museum, Living History/ Reenactment
On Saturday, November 18th, the Old Bardstown Village will present “A Civil War Christmas” featuring the 5th KY Company B “Nelson Grays” at the Historic Colonial Village. See realistic enactment of soldiers surviving winter in their encampment between campaigns. Training, musters and live firing. Young people are especially welcome to participate. Re-enactors will be on site during regular Village hours of 10 am to 5 pm. Admission to the reenactment only will be: $5.00/Adults, $3.00/Children 6-15 years and children under 5 free OR: free with Regular Admission $10/Adult, $5/Children and children under 5 free, good for both the event and all four Museums.
